School plays a significant role in the development of the children. The term school has originated from the Greek word skohle, which means a place where leisure is served.
Schools are considered the formal agencies of education. It is called the miniature of society. After home school is the place where students spend their maximum time.

- In schools, children from different cultures sit together in the same classroom.

- Vocational guidance: Schools give direction and guidance to the children in the selection of their career.
- Development of leadership qualities: The role of school is important in inculcating leadership qualities in the children. It provides a platform for the students in the form of debate and discussions where they become politically aware. They know about their rights and duties, which in return make them good citizens.
- Modification of behavior: Schools also modify the behavior of the children and prepare them to face future problems with calmness and patience. They learn the basic skills of time management and communication.
- Self-sufficiency: Schools boost the self-esteem and confidence in the children. They became independent and self-sufficient in their lives. They took all important decisions for their lives with efficiency and independence.
